This week in the Cosmos: 2025's first Subnet status report, SN25's global job pool, and the new Gravity API
Covering the latest news at Macrocosmos, and looking ahead to Q1's upcoming releases.
2025 is up and running: and so is our first roundup, featuring our latest updates from across our subnets, plus a big milestone for Data Universe. Read on to find out what we’re working on - and where we’re heading next.
Our Subnet Status Update Report is live
We’ve released our first subnet status report of the year. This contains detailed information on how each subnet has recently changed, what their Q1 roadmaps look like, and general news about Macrocosmos.
It also includes a call-to-action for people to become beta-testers for SN1’s interface and for Gravity - so get in touch and help boost groundbreaking Bittensor-native applications.
SN13 makes up over 10%+ of HuggingFace datasets above 100 million rows
Subnet 13 is not only the world’s largest collection of fresh open-source datasets, but it now makes up 10.79% of datasets on HuggingFace with over 100 million rows. 83 of SN13’s datasets are captured from Reddit, and 33 are from X.
This reveals the sheer force behind decentralized data-scraping, and shows how useful we can be to people. If you want to direct what SN13 picks up in the future, you can vote on this via Gravity, our application resting on top of the Data Universe.
SN13’s improved tools for validator-use
Following on from the update on SN13’s size, we’ve been working on an API which will make it easier for validators to access Gravity. This will allow users to choose what data they want scraped, and set their weights to it, making it a smoother and more intuitive experience.
SN25’s API is actively in development
Subnet 25, Protein-Folding, has been working on the API for its global job pool, which would allow miners to look through tasks within the network and choose the ones that suit their setups. This could effectively increase productivity by 200x.
This dashboard will be especially important when organic queries come to SN25, as these will have more specific requirements and potentially greater rewards for miners.
Take a look at our dashboard here, which is currently in development.
SN1 prepares for its API, bringing web retrieval, streaming, and Mixture-of-Miners support
Much like SN13 and SN25, Apex is also preparing for an API. This will provide real-time streaming, a web retrieval endpoint allowing the subnet to find accurate websites and highlight specific quotes online, and a mixture-of-miners component. To learn more about our Mixture-of-Miners work, take a look at our breakdown of the process, and our results compared to traditional responses from SN1.
That’s all for this week - but as always, much more to come. Thanks for reading and supporting our work.
