Watch: Co-founders Will and Steffen join Uphold Institutional on Token Discovery
A conversation around the nature of decentralized AI through an institutional lens, focused on TAO, and how Macrocosmos contributes to Bittensor’s economic landscape.
‘The creation of machine intelligence is likely to be the defining commodity and characteristic of our time’ – Will Squires
Macrocosmos co-founders, Will Squires and Steffen Cruz, were invited to Uphold Institutional’s Token Discovery Webinar, where they spoke with Dr. Martin Hiesboeck, Head of Research at Uphold.
Will and Steffen explored the significance of Macrocosmos to institutional investors, explaining the role of Bittensor in DeAI, including:
Macrocosmos can be thought of as an operating system, with sub-components contributing to its functionality.
DeAI is a meaningful way of harnessing collective human knowledge, and allowing for that to be built upon more conscientiously.
Bittensor’s pragmatic approach and highly engaged community give it the right attributes for nurturing distributed intelligence.
However, this was by no means a purely economic discourse. Much of the conversation touched on the purpose of openness in the AI space, and what makes it so meaningful on a broader scale. As Steffen pointed out, ‘decentralization is really important because it allows citizens to bring their compute to [the field], and also within Bittensor specifically people can actually monetize their skills and expertise by innovating’.
